Protip: got any younger brothers or sisters? Get them watching the show. Then you can watch it with them and get a free valid alibi to boot (“I’m keeping an eye on James like you said!”)
I have a little brother (10) and a little sister (7) who are both into the show. But alas, my parents know I’m a brony and think it’s unhealthy and I’m gay. Which I am not.
Search ‘Balad of the Brony’, he talks about the comunity and uses an example of someone who was threathend by his parents to move out of the house. One of the bronies seeing this replied that that person could stay at his house for a while.
I just watch it on my recon assist device (ipod) in my bed on Saturday and then erase the evidence of brony-ness to cover up my hoof tracks. “Averting chrisis’s” method
My parents was cool about it, even got my mom (who’s 52) to watch the first two episodes of the 1st season.
My dad (51) was just “cartoons? Eehh… ok” He doesn’t care about the content.
And I’m turning 21 this month…
I went all out about MLP, both on school and on my house, my mother keept messing with me by saying “OMG, I am shocked!”, and at school everyone failed epically to mock me because I actually liked when they mentioned it, and when people were more directly by saying it sucked, I keept the “Sure, I respect your opnion” facade and mentally shoot then down with Orbital Frienship Cannon when they walked away.
Then again, I am a girl, so it might be harder for a guy…
Womans have been getting the short end of the stick for a few thousand years now, things haven’t got any better until a few decades ago, and even today there is still too much sexism to endure sometimes.
Yeah, while I agree it should’t be, I see it as the universe trying to make things fair…
Wait, did I just give a feminism speech? That really isn’t anything like me… ._.
My whole family knows of my brony-ness. Though having Beauty and the Beast as my 5th favorite movie (and my dad knowing Faust’s pedigree) made it seem normal enough.
My parents live four thousand miles away. I watch ponies whenever I damn well feel like it. And I don’t give a rat’s ass if the entire world knows I’m watching ponies.
I watch it and my parents are very aware of the fact. They find it funny but I don’t give a buck. I just tolerate their snickers and continue watching.
My family’s okay with it, but I’m still a bit cloistered in front of them.
In front of my college pals, though? Fair game. I even know a few who are fans.
Mine know about it and probably forgot. They don’t care what I watch and I won’t try to have them watch it because I know it doesn’t fall in what entertains them. My friends, now, that’s an other problem :p I’m proud to say that most of the people I consider friends rather than acquaintances are now bronies, generally without me forcing them in any way to watch it, just by telling them it exists.
I truly don’t care if my parents know but its hard to change the subject of a conversational into something that I can use to tell my parents without blurting it out like an idiot.
lol.. Somepony beat me to making this pic… This is exactly how my addiction works… but like somepony else mentioned above… College buddies? .. Fair Game…
When I found that my 13 year old son watched ponies, I was a bit concerned because I remember what the earlier versions were like. Then I watched a couple of episodes and now I’m a brony too. I’m 48.
Then again, my favorite Christmas present was a Samurai Jack DVD from my wife
I got surprised when I told my parents I liked the show…though, they understood when I told them it’s one of the few newer kids shows I found that actually teaches morals without stupid humor.

…Wait a minute sir.
I know you from somewhere.
Subscriber of Altimamantoid’s by any chance?
Indeed I am. “Psionic Rainboom”?
Nope. Iamrealninja.
(I was the one who typed “Psionic Rainboom” on the Titanic Ant episode)
Oh hey, you’re the guy doing the Abandoned Cookie Count!
Indeed I am. And I remember that now.
I have a little brother (10) and a little sister (7) who are both into the show. But alas, my parents know I’m a brony and think it’s unhealthy and I’m gay. Which I am not.
I feal your pain… I wish you the best of luck…..
When the DVDs come out I’m going to buy them for my 3yo niece “for her birthday”.
Oh, and by the way, that’s also a way of getting my brother introduced to the show since he often sits with her when she’s watching her TV shows.
My mum and dad found me doing it and found this website. Gentlecolts, we have been compromised.
Eh.
I really don’t care if my parents find out.
I’ll just look em in the eye, and be all like “Ey. I like this show. Deal with it, I’m 20. I can make my own choices.”
Well for some others it is more difficult.
There have been stories about bronies being kicked out of their parents house because the found out.
That’s just wrong.
My mom actually asked me why I was blushing when she found out. o.O

What !? really!?, that’s sad.
Search ‘Balad of the Brony’, he talks about the comunity and uses an example of someone who was threathend by his parents to move out of the house. One of the bronies seeing this replied that that person could stay at his house for a while.
Just try to compare the show with “The Simpson” but with a more subtle approach to the mature.
Meh, I have my own TV, so it’s not an issue. Sometimes though I use my niece and nephew to watch ponies on the family TV.
You seriously couldn’t at least overlay the new words?
Sometimes the effect is better created by disregard for the original, and or contradiction of it, than by replacing it entirely.
Don’t you think?
Diacraft is a rude brony ….
This person is entirely correct. Diacraft, go sit in the shame corner.
I just watch it on my recon assist device (ipod) in my bed on Saturday and then erase the evidence of brony-ness to cover up my hoof tracks. “Averting chrisis’s” method
Stuff like this that makes me want an ipod even more -.-
I have my own apartment so i can watch ponies anytime I want. Awwyeah!
Me too! Isn’t it awsome?
Brohoof!
*brohoofs*
My parents don’t give a buck about what I watch, listen or read so…
Even clopping?
I feel you bro…
“yeah, i’m gonna get a good night’s sleep!”
ponies: “NOPE”
Exactly!
My parents was cool about it, even got my mom (who’s 52) to watch the first two episodes of the 1st season.

If anything I would be more concerned why my parents would care what I watch.
I went all out about MLP, both on school and on my house, my mother keept messing with me by saying “OMG, I am shocked!”, and at school everyone failed epically to mock me because I actually liked when they mentioned it, and when people were more directly by saying it sucked, I keept the “Sure, I respect your opnion” facade and mentally shoot then down with Orbital Frienship Cannon when they walked away.

it shouldn’t be, it really shouldn’t be harder for us
Welcome to the world of being different.
I have known that for all my life. It’s nothing new, KP.
Womans have been getting the short end of the stick for a few thousand years now, things haven’t got any better until a few decades ago, and even today there is still too much sexism to endure sometimes.

Wait, did I just give a feminism speech? That really isn’t anything like me… ._.
Uhmm, womans?
If that’s the way the universe make up for male dominance, then woman get the short end of the stick of the poetic justice as well.
My whole family knows of my brony-ness. Though having Beauty and the Beast as my 5th favorite movie (and my dad knowing Faust’s pedigree) made it seem normal enough.
my mother was concerned about me watching it and actually asked my psychologist if it was normal! since then she has become a pegasister…
*bronie, the term’s genderless dude.
your mother asked your psychologist???
Wait…
you have a psychologist??????
My parents live four thousand miles away. I watch ponies whenever I damn well feel like it. And I don’t give a rat’s ass if the entire world knows I’m watching ponies.
HAhahahahah That’s exactly what I did before I saw it! 23 o’clock, new episode watched, le scrolling and this xD!
My parents embraced it.
True story.
lol, i get the title
for those who dont, look at some will smith music

parents are awake, force them to watch ponies
Mine know about it and probably forgot. They don’t care what I watch and I won’t try to have them watch it because I know it doesn’t fall in what entertains them. My friends, now, that’s an other problem :p I’m proud to say that most of the people I consider friends rather than acquaintances are now bronies, generally without me forcing them in any way to watch it, just by telling them it exists.
protip: kill your parents and watch ponies anytime
Your parents try to keep you from watching MLP?
Good. That means they’re doing their jobs.
i might be wrong but i think you might be a parasprite…
I truly don’t care if my parents know but its hard to change the subject of a conversational into something that I can use to tell my parents without blurting it out like an idiot.
Me, every Saturday morning.
My mum watches it with me. Though I was worried she might judge me. Thankfully, my boyfriend is a brony and comes over every Saturday to watch.
My family already knows that I watch ponies, they say that all that matters is that I’m straight.
And why should sexuality matter either?
Hey, what was with your comment the other day. It’s been bugging me…
Sorry, totally interrupting this conversation. I’m just tired
.
OHAI der Lesbian Carwasher.
lol.. Somepony beat me to making this pic… This is exactly how my addiction works… but like somepony else mentioned above… College buddies? .. Fair Game…
Haha, too late for my, my dad, and older brother make fun of me for watching ponies. They don’t get it.
Me and my parents watch ponies together so this is somthing I do not have to worry about!
I can only watch 2 eps a week when my parents leave….
I know that feel, and so does myu brother, the only other brony I know.
Wow I am lucky I guess there are a bunch of bromide at my school and my whole family is into it yay!
