    yay

  7. Mark says:

I think he meant bronies as in bros

  8. GameMasterJ says:

Welcome to the Herd Mr. Colbert . Slowly but surly ponies are taking over the world.

  9. Mcoov says:

    Steven Coltber.

    A pun, not a typo.

  10. zem says:

I wonder if that’ll increase his viewing audience by 20%.

    • Brony4lyfe says:

Not sure, but it made him 20% cooler in 10 seconds flat.

      • The Master says:

Woah… what does that do to the Colbert Bump? Because the bump gives candidates 10 more points and 44% more money they they normally get… so then they get 12 points, and 52.8% more money…

  11. MOAR PONIES! says:

This is seriously the greatest fanbase on the face of the earth.

  12. Brony 771 says:

You know the Rainbow Dash squeal in The Best Night Ever? I had one of those last night when I saw this on TV.

  13. OleJ says:

    Colbert, you rock. Woho.
    And welcome to the herd.

  14. Melissa says:

Too cool! I wonder who will join the herd next.

  15. MintBronyCrunch says:

I saw this when it first aired
    /hipster

    • ParanoidPenguin says:

      Pony Please.

I saw this when it was just an idea in Colbert’s head.

Since Stephen Colbert has his on Ben&Jerry’s flavor, we bronies should get our own ice cream flavor! Maybe MintBronyCrunch can be the name of it? Or did you trademark that? If you did, I want character-specific flavors.
      -Twilight Vanilla Sparkle
-Pinkie Pie’s Cupcakes (I can put these two words in the same sentence, I have a permit)
      -Rainbow Sherbet Dash
      -Applejack Apple Pie
      -Rarity’s Diamond Sprinkles
      -Trollestia Lemon Sun
      -Luna DARK Chocolate
-Spike’s Dragon Breath (Cinnamon or something)
      -Derpy Hooves Twist
      -DJ P0N-3 Vinyl Mousse
      -Sweetie Belle’s Mint Caramel Spin
      -Apple Bloom’s Apple Swirl
      -Scootaloo’s Orange Speedtwirl
      -Big Mac’s Apple Nutmeg Fritter

I think that’s all of them.

And all the other ponies with the pumped up kicks, you better run, better outrun my gun- Orbital Friendship Cannon, I mean.

      • Brony4lyfe says:

Dagnabbit Paranoid! Now you made me hungry for some of that ice cream!

      • Agent Tasmania says:

Why not just ‘AppleJack’? maybe an Apple and Rum sorbet or something like that? (Applejack is a strong alcohol derived from apples). But it doesn’t matter because we don’t have Ben & Jerry’s in Australia.

        • Brony4lyfe says:

That is actually a good idea.

I believe apple pies usually have granny smith apples in them anyway, with a sweeter apple like macintoshes or golden delicious to balance out the tartness.

So maybe use Agent’s idea for Applejack, and Granny Smith’s apple pie. *In fact, I believe her cutie mark is an apple pie as well* *checks* Eeyup, sure is! :D

          Nice catch Agent Tasmania. *fluttershyyay*

      • Max says:

        Don’t forget Molestia’s Lemonparty Sun

      • Luigi868 says:

How about one with “Sonic Rainboom” that’d make everything 20% cooler!

      • Laeko Randalis says:

Hey, wait just a second here, what about Fluttershy? Knowing bunny tracks, bunny blast, and turtle tracks are all ice cream flavors, I’m sure there’s something we can make for her!

BTW, major points on Derpy Hooves Twist.

  16. chaudman says:

    Steven Coltbert?

  17. CriticalQuit says:

Bill Clinton’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me quiz was a fluke, I read the interview and the questions were all obvious. Stephen Colbert is the true celebrity brony.

Although NPR’s Carl Kasell did bring the show up again. Maybe he’s a brony too XD

  18. qqqyy5 says:

    hahaha yes.

  19. orreso says:

I’m pretty sure he has daughters, so it’s not that surprising that he knows about the show, googled it or something similar, and found the fanbase

    • CriticalQuit says:

He wouldn’t know about “bronies” if only his daughters had watched it. Bronies are males, usually teenage or older, who like the show for its writing and animation quality, and are thus “bro”nies.

      • Catbeastaisha says:

Which begs the question… what should the female (teen or not) followers be called? As we are not a “bro” the term “brony” doesn’t seem fitting… Cool as it sounds.

      • DrahcirAloer says:

But he could have possibly watched the episodes on YouTube with them if they wanted to watch a specific episode. Then he could have read a few comments, seen the word Brony a few times, and then got curious. A few internet searches later he has Equstria Daily and ponychan bookmarked and he has become a Brony.

  20. qqqyy5 says:

    we have won america!

  21. :fluttershyyay: says:

    :brohoof:

  22. gEiStToG says:

I wider if Colbert posts on here and if he ever will say who he is..

  23. bcfallout says:

why do I get the feeling he didn’t mean US when he said bronies, just kind of like… idk…. pluralizing bro’s but in his own little way?

    I just can’t see him as a bronie :/

    • zem says:

I was wondering that first part too.

I don’t think he’s a Brony, but it’s quite possible that he’s baffled/intrigued/amused by the idea of Bronies and gave the shout-out for that reason. It’s still pretty awesome, unless it was just a coincidence.

    • Tornado says:

He did, he also did some gestures as if he was riding a horse, obviously pointing out what he meant.

  24. AssassiNazi says:

Saw it whe it first aired like that other dude, i wished i had been drinking so i could have spit it out in excitement

  25. themasterofuhhhidunno says:

Aw man, i wish i could have watched that last night

  26. mads says:

for all the peeps that speculate he was just using a plural for bro, after this clips ends he goes on to imitate riding a horse and whatnot. he was definitely talking of ponies.

  27. OMG says:

Every Man is a Brony at heart. There are only two types of men, those who have been exposed and are now part of the herd and those who have yet to be exposed. MLP:FiM, its like the Zombie Plauge, only you WANT TO CATCH IT and its 20% cooler… does that make us Zombie Ponies??????

    • Artifex says:

You usually get assimilated in ten seconds flat.

      • Captain Devarius says:

        *cough*

        • Brony4lyfe says:

With some pleasant exceptions like Dev here. :D

          How you doing today Cap’n?

          • Captain Devarius says:

Not good, my envoy bearing my promotion and new orders has yet to arrive, and Apoc is trolling, which is *boom!* keeping the ships guns busy. All in all, I swamped.

            • ParanoidPenguin says:

Hey, what’s up? Took a break from this site today to visit my family in the South Pole. Showed up in a Rainbow Dash 20% cooler in ten seconds flat shirt. They just stared at me. Then I realized they were all Pinkie Pie fans. They baked cupcakes. I ran the [censored] home as fast as I can. And here I am.

            • Brony4lyfe says:

Indeed, he’s been a busy little parasprite today. :)

Doesn’t really bother me that much though to tell the truth. I think he was just looking for a little attention because he doesn’t have that many friends to hang out with or something. Kind of made me feel a little sorry for him actually.

I learned he’s british, doesn’t like muffins, and has a bad keyboard! :) Good times…good times.

              • Captain Devarius says:

You’ve learned a lot about him I see, and what, pray tell, do you know about ME? *suspicious face?*

                • Brony4lyfe says:

*hides a file behind his back*

                  Uh…nothing?

                  *badpokerface*

                • ParanoidPenguin says:

“Dang, he’s on to us! Brony4Lyfe, GET IN THE CAR!”
                  “He’s following us!”
“Too close for missles, switching to guns!”
                  “Dude. This isn’t Top Gun.”
                  “Sorry. But- Okay.”

                  • Brony4lyfe says:

“So ParanoidPenguin…where are you driving us in this…1975 AMC Gremlin!?”

                    “Your house!”

                    *looks at Penguin*

*looks at the oncoming smoldering crater that used to be his house*

“Um…got some bad news for you Pengs…”

            • Luigi868 says:

What if we got Apoc and Clxxxiv to go against each other?

    • Nash says:

Spike, there are no zombie ponies.

  28. qqqyy5 says:

what i want to know is why this show is so addicting to watch. i mean it’s designed for like….5 year olds but i cant stop myself from watching all the episodes. and now that i finished the season i just want more.

    • Sunbaked says:

Mostly because a lot of shows for younger people are aimed at the adults so that they will also be entertained. Thus the kid will be allowed to watch more. That or its just awesome.

    • WarlordMWD says:

      No shame, qqqyy5, no shame.

    • Paul says:

Because television has so few slice-of-life shows, without lots of angst and throwing dinner plates, or battling aliens, or cheap sex jokes. MLP:FIM is about people who like each other, have fun, and work hard. What’s so wrong with that?

      • qqqyy5 says:

true. i just never thought i (or so many other people) would get hooked on watching something like this

        • Dragonfodder says:

It is rare that a show can bring an honest smile to my face. The only current successful ones are Samurai Jack and MLP:FiM. It is just. that. good.

          • ParanoidPenguin says:

Watch Eureka. So much funny, without all of the cliches of regular televison. Plus, it’s one of SyFy’s good shows, and IMO, one of the greatest shows of modern times, along with Jericho (UNDERRATED), and from what I’ve been hearing, Firelfy.

          • lefruitman says:

            Samurai Jack is current?

    • Nash says:

It’s adorable, funny and lighthearted. I guess some people like just watching people being brutally murdered all the time, but I watch enough violent movies, TV shows and play games, it’s nice to take a break from it. Which means ponies, or cute kittuns playing in a bag or box.

  30. 20% cooler says:

You should see the Brony Fanpage/topic on the Colbert Report forums. All trolls were destroyed on August 1st on that fanpage when Colbert did that shout-out.

  31. I need a change of pants for that shout out…

  32. JrConductorHat says:

Colberts a brony? Well my life is complete now…

  33. evilalex1 says:

Steven Colbert 20% cooler in 10 secongd flat

  34. Agent Tasmania says:

I just wish he hadnét said it like a total douchebag.

  35. Random person #4 says:

I almost shat myself last night when I heard him say Bronies.

Also later on in that episodes he makes a joke of drinking his own pee, then he mention trolls…

  36. Hovercat says:

i dunno if he was talking to us or if he meant hes bros :S

  37. Max says:

He looked really hesistant to say that…

  38. Jozée says:

It’s just me or he also says “everypony”?

  39. Ermeig says:

Saw this yesterday while eating dinner with my mom. Started to freak out. She asked me what a brony was, and then called me stupid.

  40. lefruitman says:

Is it just me or does he look like he’s about to brohoof right before the video ends?

  41. Lolabonne says:

Stephen Colbert should get his own character on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. A pegasus with only a right wing.

  42. Ounce says:

If you watch what happens for the next 30 seconds or so, it’s painfully obvious that he has no idea what he’s talking about.

Some writer must have slipped that in there.

    Such a shame. :\

  43. corbinponymultipass says:

    No love for the Pegasisters?

  44. jonydog says:

literaly because i never colbert and daily show nightly every freakin’ hole in my entire body shot a rainbow

  45. MasterlySpring9 says:

I watch his show 20% more often… Unless the Hub tells me my Pony overlords require viewership.
